Physiotherapy

Physiotherapists are registered healthcare practitioners whose focus is on structure and movement of the human body. Our physios work with people over the age of 16 to improve physical mobility and movement related to sports injuries, general musculoskeletal conditions neurological and respiratory conditions.

They can also give joint injections for certain conditions/if appropriate.

Health checks

General health checks are available as follows:

NHS Health check

  • aged 40-74 (no other conditions, every 5 years)
  • Well Woman
  • Well Man
  • aged 75 and over (who has not seen a GP in the last year)

General checks will be carried out as follows:

Blood pressure, blood tests (as appropriate), Height and Weight, Lifestyle advice, Tetanus status.

Family Planning

Our nurses offer the contraceptive injection (depo). Please book a GP appointment to discuss if this is the right method for you.

Social Prescribers

 

This service is for anyone aged 18 and registered with our practice. Our social prescribers offer a mixture of telephone and face-face appointments to link you with services and activities within your community to improve and maintain your health and wellbeing. This includes:

  • Low mood/anxiety
  • Bereavement
  • Drugs & Alcohol
  • Employment
  • Money/debt & Benefits
  • Housing
  • Loneliness & Isolation
  • Learning/Training
  • Complex social needs
  • Healthier Lifestyle.

To arrange to speak to one of our social prescribers please call the surgery and speak to one of our reception team who can book an appointment for you or alternatively you can use the e-consult service to request an appointment.

Healthy Minds

Healthy minds is a virtual service offering mental health and wellbeing consultations. They contact patients who are struggling with low level mental health difficulties.

Travel Vaccinations

If you're planning to travel outside the UK, you may need to be vaccinated against some of the serious diseases found in other parts of the world. Call in to your surgery to collect a Pre-Travel Health Questionnaire, complete and return it at least six weeks before your departure date and make an appointment to see the nurse.
